Joll is currently working on a new series of talks for Noble Caledonia’s 2024 cruising season, during which he will be giving talks on the Nile in February and the western Italian islands in September.
He has also started Bend Sinister, a history of British royal bastards, for publication by Nine Elms Books in time for the 2024 Christmas market.
On 13 November 2023, Nine Elms Books will publish Joll’s new book, Bonfire of History: The Lost Treasures, Trophies and Trivia of Madame Tussaud and Sons Exhibition.
The book is a forensic examination of the historical art and artefacts lost in the 1925 fire. It exposes a surprising number of fakes as well as authenticating priceless items ranging from the shirt in which King Henri IV was assassinated to Napoleon’s tooth.
On 25 April 2023, Joll will be giving a talk about mishaps at past Coronations to the Friends of the Higgins Museum.
In April 2023, Joll will be delivering talks for Noble Caledonia on two of their Adriatic Odyssey cruises.
During February 2023, Joll will be delivering talks about 19th century British military adventures in Egypt for Noble Caledonia on two of their Nile cruises.
